CMPD Investigating Armed Robbery At Credit Union Near UNCC

According to the CMPD, a security guard fired shots outside of the bank during the robbery, but no one was injured.

It is unclear whether police have apprehended a suspect.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating following an armed bank robbery at the State Employees’ Credit Union in the University City area Monday morning.

The UNC Charlotte Office of Emergency Management sent the following tweet:

NinerAlert: The State Employees’ Credit Union near campus was robbed at approx. 10:43 a.m. today. Suspect was seen leaving area in green Honda Civic via WT Harris Blvd. Police do not believe there is a threat to campus. If you have information about crime, call 911.
