MONROE, N.C. — Police in Monroe have charged a 29-year-old man for shooting and killing a 71-year-old man they say he lived with.
On March 24th, 2019, at about 9:42 p.m., Monroe Police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 400 block of English street.
Arriving officers located 71-year-old Archie Lee Blount dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
A further investigation led officers to a neighboring home, where they found 29-year-old Christopher Terrell Walker and the weapon used in the shooting.
Walker was questioned, taken into custody, and charged with First Degree Murder.
Authorities say they are still trying to determine the events that preceded the shooting and that Blount and Walker both resided at 412 English Street.
