CIAA Commissioner Talks Future in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte has hosted the CIAA tournament for the past nine years, but the future of the tournament in the city is uncertain.

Thousands pour into the Charlotte each year for the event that creates a great economic boost for the city.

Commissioner Jacqie Carpenter says the tournament is a great place for people to reunite and connect.

She says Charlotte has been a great city and they are looking for a city that will provide the best package for the student athletes.

The CIAA has grown and they are looking to reset.

The assosciation has heard some cities, like Atlanta, Raleigh, Queens, DC, and Philadelphia, express interest already.
