Β CHARLOTTE, NC — Authorities made an arrest in the Elizabeth neighborhood Thursday night in a murder and arson cold case from nearly 30 years ago.
Police arrested Arthur Blake Thursday morning and charged him with the murder of 70-year-old Tony Baucom back in 1985. Β Detectives reopened the case in March after getting a tip from fire investigators.
Blake is accused of killing Baucom and setting his apartment on fire to cover the crime. Β The complex on East Seventh Street burned. Β There is now a new complex at the same site.
