Police Identify Man Shot And Killed Outside North Charlotte Bank

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have detained a person of interest after one person was killed and another injured in a shooting outside of a north Charlotte bank overnight.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers responded to a call at the Wells Fargo on North Tryon Street near the intersection of Sugar Creek Road at about 1:45 a.m. on Monday.
Responding officers found one man shot to death inside a car in the parking lot of the bank. MEDIC pronounced him dead at the scene. Officers located another man suffering from a gunshot wound nearby. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say a person of interest is in custody and they are not looking for other suspects. No motive for the shooting has been given.
