CHARLOTTE, NC — Panthers’ player Greg Hardy turned in his guns to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office Friday.  Ten firearms in all.  A judge ordered it Thursday, and added it to Hardy’s bond requirements.  Hardy is accused of assaulting and threatening 24-year-old Nicki Holder.

She says the two were fighting over her brief relationship with the rapper Nelly.  Panthers head coach Ron Rivera talked to reporters Friday about the allegations.

“I’m not gonna comment about it,” he said.  “I’m really not.  Other than to say Greg’s a heck of a young man, and we’ll go from there… I know Mr. Richardson’s commitment to make sure we do things the right way… I think the biggest thing we need to do, more than anything else, is continue to focus on what we’re doing on the football field, and let other things play out.  The thing I think is more important than anything else is the guys that are here working hard.  I’m gonna really stress, it’s about who’s here right now, who’s doing the things that we need to get done.”

Hardy is due back in court June 27.
