CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ Christian Reyes’ third touchdown, a one-yard plunge in overtime, lifted Charleston Southern to a wild 47-41 shootout win over Charlotte on Saturday.

Β Β Charlotte (3-2) reached overtime by blocking a Buccaneer field goal attempt on the final play of regulation. Β The 49ers had the ball first in overtime and reached the Charleston Southern 1 before a holding penalty snuffed the drive. Then Charlotte missed a 30-yard field goal.

Β Β Reyes finished with 159 yards for the Bucs (5-0) and Austin Brown hit 17 of 20 passes for 216 yards and two scores.

Β Β Matt Johnson was 16 of 27 for 305 yards and two touchdowns, both to Austin Duke, who had 12 catches for a school record 251 yards. Kalif Phillips had 196 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

Β Β CSU had 617 yards of offense, holding the ball for almost 42 minutes. The 49ers had 573 yards in just 18 minutes.
