Healthy Dog Euthanized To Be Buried With Owner

A Virginia woman’s decision to have her healthy dog be put to sleep and buried with her has sparked some debate online.

The shih tzu mix, named Emma was recently euthanized to fulfill her late owner’s dying wish. The dog was cremated and her ashes were returned to the representative of the woman’s estate. The animal shelter tried to keep the dog alive but the executor declined.

In Virginia pets are allowed to be buried beside their owner but not in the same grave.
