MOORESVILLE, N.C. — The Mooresville Police Chief and a captain have been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into an internal personnel matter.
Mooresville Interim Town Manager Ryan Rase placed Chief Damon Williams and Captain David Call on paid leave on June 3rd. Call is the supervisor of the Criminal Investigations Division. WCCB has confirmed that the personnel matter involves claims of a hostile work environment.
The internal personnel investigation is being conducted by an outside agency, according to officials.
Deputy Chief Gerald Childress is in charge of the Department in Chief William’s absence. According to the Town of Mooresville, the action was not based on any suspicion of criminal activity.
