ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — The woman responsible for the care of an Alexander County man found dead inside his home has been charged with neglect following an investigation.
Authorities say on June 1st, at 9 p.m., Alexander County officers, Alexander County EMS, Wittenburg First Responders, and the Alexander County Rescue Squad responded to a possible overdose in the Wittenburg community.
Arriving officers met with 57-year-old Catarina Hosler of Santa Cruz California, who was caring for 78-year-old Timothy Havey.
Hosler told officers that Havey was locked in the bathroom and had been in the bathtub fir 4 to 5 hours. Hosley also stated that Havey had a lengthy medical history.
Following further investigation, Hosler was arrested and charged with Felony Neglect of a Disabled/Elderly Person. She was given a $100,000 bond and is scheduled for a first appearance in Alexander County District Court on June 10th.
