Are More Parents Behaving Badly?

CHARLOTTE, NC — Four people are charged with disorderly conduct and fighting in public after a fight broke out over the weekend at a Colorado baseball game involving 7-year-old kids.

On Facebook, the Lakewood Police Department said that coaches and parents were unhappy with the game and a 13-year-old umpire’s call. As a result, they took over the field and began assaulting each other.

“How To Stop Being A Terrible Sports Parent” is the title of an article that outlines some steps parents can take to self-regulate.

There’s even a website dedicated to posting videos of parents behaving badly at their kids’ sporting events in an effort to shame them into shaping up.
