Police Arrest Two Suspects Accused In Statesville Murder
STATESVILLE, NC — Police have arrested two suspects wanted wanted in connection to a deadly double shooting Friday afternoon.
Quinton Kasey and Azontay Sherrill have each been been charged with felony murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury, and two counts each of felony conspiracy.
Police say Sherrill was found Saturday night on Caldwell Street. Officers reportedly seized a Taurus 111 9mm pistol from the suspect during his arrest.
Kasey turned himself in to authorities Sunday night, according to police.
Around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21st, Statesville Police say two brothers, Marcus and Timmy Moore, were shot on Deaton Street. Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment, but Marcus later died from injuries.
Timmy is expected to recover, police say.
Kasey, 19, and Sherrill, 18, were quickly identified as suspects, according to investigators, and had warrants issued for their arrest.
