CMPD Investigating Homicide In Northwest Charlotte; Victim Identified

The CMPD has identified the man shot and killed in northwest Charlotte Monday morning.

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Eugene Williams.  No suspect information has been released.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they are investigating a homicide in northwest Charlotte.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit were called to the intersection of Evanshire Drive and Trinity Road just after 9:30am in reference to a shooting.

MEDIC pronounced the man dead on the scene.  Officers believe the shooting started near the intersection of Feldbank Drive and Evanshire Drive.  Detectives are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any additional witnesses to the shooting.
