Suspect In Custody After Woman Assaulted, Man Stabbed In Lincoln County

LINCOLNTON, N.C. —  Authorities in Lincoln County say a man is in custody after allegedly assaulting a woman and stabbing a man over the weekend.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the assaults occurred last Friday around 8:45 p.m. at a residence on Silver Lane in Iron Station.

Deputies responded to a domestic dispute, where they found Kendrick Chazz Prather sitting in the driveway,being treated bu his girlfriend for multiple stab wounds.

Witnesses told deputies that Prather attempted to intervene after 51-year-old Brian Keith McDonald hit a woman at the home, causing her to lose consciousness.

Prather and McDonald then had a physical altercation, which led to McDonald stabbing Prather.

Officials say McDonald fled into a wooded area before being apprehended the next morning.

McDonald is charged with with misdemeanor assault on a female and felony assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and inflicting serious injury.  He was given a $40,000 secured bond.
