4 Teens Charged With Iredell County Break-In, Attempted Theft
STATESVILLE, NC — The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has charged four teens accused of breaking into an outbuilding and trying to steal four-wheelers.
The crime was reported Wednesday, July 3rd at a home on Alpine Circle. Deputies say the homeowner’s son was going to get a boat when he arrived at the residence and witnessed four suspects running from an outbuilding on the property.
He reportedly chased after the suspects, who ran to a BMW parked nearby. After catching up with them, deputies say the victim recognized one of the suspects as a former employee of his father’s.
The victim spoke with the suspect who claimed he was there working on a four-wheeler.
After further investigation, detectives say the outbuilding had been broken into and several items were removed. The suspects had also attempted to steal the four-wheelers, deputies say, by re-wiring the ignitions.
The suspects were identified as Zane White, 16, William Tyler Suber, 17, John Bayne, 17, and Alexander Evans, 18, who was also identified as the former employee.
Each of the suspects have been charged with the following offenses: Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, Felony Attempted Larceny and Injury to Real Property.
