MORGANTON, NC — A man wanted on an out of state fugitive warrant was arrested in Burke County after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on July 1st.
Eric Taylor, 39, of Morganton was wanted for felony Second-Degree Child Molestation by the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office in Jackson, Missouri.
On Monday, deputies say they received a report of a possible sexual assault involving a victim at CHS – Blueridge Hospital in Morganton. The woman identified the suspect as Taylor, who was quickly located and taken into custody.
Deputies in Burke County say several search warrants have been executed on Taylor and their investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are expected.
Taylor is currently being held for extradition to Missouri. His hearing is scheduled for August 28th.
