Teenager Hit By Car Trying To Rescue Dog

HUDSON, N.C. — Troopers say a teenager was hit by a car early Monday morning while trying to rescue his dog who was hit by another vehicle. 

This all happened around 7:30 a.m. on Fairwood Drive near Hudson.  The 15-year-old was thrown about 70 feet after the vehicle struck him. 

The driver of the vehicle has not been charged.  The teenager was airlifted to Charlotte’s Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.  The dog died after being hit by the car.
