Statesville Man Charged Following Violent Home Invasion In Iredell County

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A Statesville man has been arrested and charged for his role in a violent home invasion in Iredell County, on Sunday morning.

At about 2 a.m. Sunday morning, Iredell County deputies responded to a call on Rosy Apple Lane near the intersection of Grayson Park Road in Statesville.  Arriving officers found five victims of a home invasion, including one person with a stab wound on the top of his head and other injuries that indicated he had been attacked with a weapon.

Detectives interviewed the victims who stated that sometime after midnight, four or five armed and masked men had forced their way into the residence and ordered the victims to give them money and drugs.

The owner of the home described being stabbed in the head and beaten with brass knuckles.  All five victims were tied up by the suspects.

During the initial struggle, the mask on one of the men came down and the homeowner was able to identify him as someone he knew personally, Donald Blevins.

The homeowner stated that the suspects searched the home and took several items after tying up the victims.  One of the victims was able to get free and call 911 after the suspects left the residence.

Detectives gathered evidence and located Donald Blevins III arriving at his fiancee’s house around 10 a.m., on Sunday morning.  Detectives were granted warrants for Blevins’ home and a vehicle he was known to travel in.
