Men Charged In 2016 Armed Robbery Series Now Charged With Recent Series Of South Charlotte Armed Robberies
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The CMPD says two men arrested for a series of armed robberies in 2016 have now been charged with a recent series of armed robberies.
According to police, on July 20th, 2019, Shahquan Cureton, 22, and Joshua Threatt, 23, were responsible for four robberies in 45 minutes.
- At 5:52 a.m., a victim reported two suspects approached him and one suspect pointed a gun at him. The victim was able to escape from the two suspects and notified police. This incident occurred on Hilary Circle near Nations Ford Road.
- At 6:10 a.m., a victim reported a suspect threatened her with a knife and took her phone and purse. This incident occurred very close to the first incident on Nations Ford Road, near the intersection with Hilary Circle.
- At 6:26 a.m., the victim reported two suspects threatened him with a gun and took his phone and wallet. This incident occurred on Arborgate Drive, near Arrowood Road.
- At 6:35 a.m., a victim reported two suspects threatened him with a gun and took his wallet. This incident occurred near on Lodge South Circle, near Arrowood Road.
Detectives identified Cureton and Threatt as suspects on July 21st and they were both arrested. Police say Threatt has been released on electric monitoring.
Cureton was charged with three counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault by Pointing a Gun.
The CMPD says Cureton has more than 60 charges since 2013, when he was 16 years old.
Threatt was charged with two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
The CMPD says Threatt has more than 25 charges since 2014 when he was 17 years old.
