SHELBY, N.C. — Police say James Phillip Bell, 51, was killed after he was hit by a train in Shelby Monday morning.
The accident was reported around 9:30 a.m. on the tracks near Seaboard Street at North Washington Street.
No word on why the man was on the tracks.
