CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets today unveiled a new Statement Edition uniform to be worn during the 2019-20 season, in association with Official Jersey Patch Partner LendingTree.
The Statement Edition uniform remains purple but features a completely different design than its predecessor. Most notably, the chest plate says “CHA,” matching the NBA’s official abbreviation for the Hornets. This marks the first time the team has used the abbreviation, which appears in white with a teal outline, on its jerseys. The numbers are teal and the player’s name on the back is white, as they were on the previous Statement Edition uniform.
The stripes on the side of the uniform have been replaced by a pattern resembling a stinger that appears on both the jersey and the shorts. On the shorts, the stinger is joined by a teal version of the team’s “Silhouette” secondary logo. The waistband features the partial primary logo, which has not previously appeared on a uniform.
The Hornets are scheduled to wear the Statement Edition uniform for eight home games this season at Spectrum Center – including Opening Night on October 23 against the Chicago Bulls and some of the highest-profile games of the year such as March 21 against the Los Angeles Lakers, December 4 against the Golden State Warriors and November 7 against the Boston Celtics on TNT – as well as in eight road contests.
Like the rest of the team’s uniforms, the Statement Edition features the logos of Nike’s Jordan Brand on the right chest and partner LendingTree on the left chest. The Official Loan Shopping Partner of the Charlotte Hornets, LendingTree will have its logo on each of the team’s jerseys for the third consecutive season. As part of a robust sponsorship package, the company is also the entitlement partner for the Hornets App and the Hornets Hoops youth basketball program.
The Statement Edition jersey is expected to be available at retail after the start of the regular season.
