Some CMS Teachers Planning “Walk-In” Over Budget Concerns

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A source with the North Carolina Association of Educators tells our Alexnadra Elich that teachers at some Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are planning a “walk-in” Wednesday morning before school starts.

The teachers are frustrated the North Carolina General Assembly can’t compromise regarding the state budget and teacher pay raises.

According to the source, teachers, students and parents will protest outside the school and then walk into school together to show solidarity.

Walk-ins are planned at Waddell Language Academy and Olympic High School, with teachers at other schools contemplating involvement, according to the source.
