CMPD: West Charlotte Death Investigation Now Considered Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are now saying the death investigation they were conducting in west Charlotte Monday afternoon has officially been ruled a homicide.

Officers responded to an assist medic call on Spring Forest Drive near West Boulevard just after 9am and discovered 79-year-old Curtis Ford dead inside a home.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Ford did not die of natural causes and detectives say they do suspect foul play at this time, according to a news release.

Police say the investigation is in its early stages and no other information has been released.  Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS.
