IREDELL COUNTY, N.C.– The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says a man shot and killed his two young sons before attempting to commit suicide early Sunday morning.
Officials were called to a house on Trent Road in Iredell County around 3:45 Sunday morning for reports of an intoxicated man firing a gun. When they arrived they found a man outside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
After entering the house, deputies found two boys, ages three and four deceased.
The suspect is at Carolinas Medical Center in critical condition.
The shooting is under investigation. No more information has been released at this time.
