America’s Got Talent Winner At Southern Christmas Show
Season six winner of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., is at the Southern Christmas Show this weekend.
Landau was homeless before he won America’s Got Talent and today has over 100 sold out concerts across three continents, from Caesars Palace to the Apollo Theater and all points in between.
Landau won NBCβs βAmerica’s Got Talentβ, with the largest vote total in the show’s history. Personal interpretations of standards by Frank Sinatra and others have led to dozens of sold-out performances for Landau around the world, from Shanghai to San Francisco, New York City to Las Vegas, and across Europe singing for U.S. troops stationed there. Landau has shared the stage with the Boston Pops, George Benson, Patti Labelle, Christopher Cross, the Temptations and many more.
He has released three successful albums so far.Β βThatβs Lifeβ (November 2011)with Columbia Records stayed several weeks on the Billboard jazz charts.βChristmas Made for Two” (December 2013), Landau’s special Holiday CD has classic and brand-new original holiday favorites and has always been a best-selling fundraising vehicle for The Childrenβs Home Society charity in West Virginia.Β βLandau” (December 2016)includes his signature take on popular Great American Songbook standards, updated versions of classic R&B, what Landau calls a βBig Band twist,β and Landauβs first-ever original compositions co-written with the music industryβs biggest Grammy-winning songwriters. The tracks have been recorded at the famed Capitol Records Studio βB,β home to Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Nat βKingβ Cole and Dean Martin. The CD was helmed by Grammy winner Jeff Weber.
Landau has alsoΒ co-authored a book with award-winning writer Rick Robinson βLandau Eugene Murphy Jr: From Washing Cars to Hollywood Starβ, that debuted at #1 on the Amazon.com Jazz Book chart. Singer and song-writer par excellence, Landau made his debut as an actor in the movieΒ “Choices, the Ron James story in 2018.Β He continues to tour globally when not at home in West Virginia, where Landau was named βWest Virginian of the Yearβ by the Governorβs office and where he has helped raise over a million dollars for Mountain state charities.
Landau is currently completing mixing on his next album βLandau Live in Las Vegas.β
