Keep calm! The White House stresses there’s no real need to fear Ebola getting out of control, since every outbreak over the past 40 years has been stopped.
Nearly 3,500 people have died in the recent Ebola outbreak in west Africa. However, four Americans treated here on U.S. soil have survived. The Chief of Homeland Security says that’s because the U.S. has the most capable doctors in the world.
Another thing in our favor: the difficulty in spreading the virus. Ebola doesn’t spread with casual contact, but through direct contact with bodily fluids, primarily blood. And it can only spread after someone develops symptoms, such as a fever.
So with the facts out there, is there anything that could be considered worse than Ebola?
