Man on the Edge: All Up in Your Bubble

 The streets are cordoned off, and soon enough, tens of thousands of people will be flooding uptown for Speed Street!  Plus, the Knights are at home this weekend, so add another 10,000 or so more to the mix.  There’s going to be a ton of fun, but it’s not exactly the place to be if you need your space.

Personal space means different things to different people.  But in the big city, it’s hard to find. That’s why a contraption we found is gaining some attention online this week: the Personal Space Dress.  It actually has proximity sensors built in, and a framework that spreads out like an umbrella when somebody gets too close.  The site Urbanarmor.com actually has do-it-yourself instructions to make your own.

Admittedly, that takes person space to the extreme.  Most of us probably don’t need that kind of distance.  But there’s nothing wrong with having a little breathing room.  And our close-talking Man on the Edge, Robert Wilder, made that very difficult for some people uptown…
