Actress Constance Wu Got Exotic Dancer Job To Prepare For Hustlers Movie

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A lot of Hollywood stars are known for ‘method acting,’ or doing extensive research to prepare for a movie or television role. Actress Constance Wu is no stranger to the process. While on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Wu revealed that she got a job as a stripper to prepare for the role of Destiny in the film Hustlers. She says she even made $600!

If you’re wondering how in the world a famous actress went undetected in a strip club, she explains. Wu says, “I put fake tattoos on my neck and I, like, changed my hair. I put these hair pieces in. You get to be like, another person. You get to be another person…I don’t know, maybe I found myself there in the strip club.”

Wu says she gained a new level of respect for the women, because of how much physicality is involved. And, because she is so dedicated to the craft, she also installed a stripper pole in her living room at home for a few months.
