BELMONT, N.C. — Several students from Belmont Abbey College could face suspension after police say they were under the influence of hallucinogens.Β
Mount Holly Police say they received several calls on Saturday night from residents at the Abbey Court Apartments on Viewmont Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they found a naked man jumping on cars and running through the complex.
Belmont Abbey campus police were called and said they too were dealing with a similar incident involving another student at one of the campus dorm rooms. Campus police told authorities that a male student had managed to jump or fall from the third floor of a building.Β
Rolando Rivas, a spokesman for Belmont Abbey College, says he believes the two students were hanging out with a group of friends that night. He was unsure if any charges would be filed but said the students could possibly face suspension.Β
The student’s names have not been released.
