Police Question Victim’s Son in South Charlotte Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives are questioning the son of a man that was shot and killed in south Charlotte. Charles Hale was interviewed by police after authorities say he and his father were involved in an altercation that led to the shooting. 

On Saturday, around 4:18 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 9200 block of Raintree Lane. When officers arrived they found 56-year-old William Hale suffering from a gunshot wound. Medic transported the victim to Carolinas Medical center where he later died.

Detectives say they are presenting the case to the District Attorney’s office to determine if any charges will be file.
