Charlotte as Hollywood of the South may not happen, at least not in the immediate future. The plans to lure major filmmakers to Crown Town is disappearing as the studio developer looks to other locations beside the Eastland Mall property. And the location formerly known as Eastland Mall is now just a big vacant lot, home to memories of its glory days. And not much else.
So if the movie studio plans fall through for Eastland, what else should we do with the property?
