CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say Daniel Roberts is responsible for a deadly East Charlotte wreck that killed 25 year old Barnette White Jr.
The wreck happened at the intersection of East Independence Boulevard and Village Lake Drive. just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Roberts is being charged with DWI this morning andΒ upon release from CMC, he will be charged with felony death by vehicle, reckless driving and expired registration plate.Β Β Β
Witnesses say Roberts ran several red lights before crashing into the Toyota 4Runner. According to the police report, Roberts was seriously injured when his car kept sliding down the road and hit a telephone pole.
Major Crash Investigation Unit of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department is still investigating the crash. Any witnesses are asked to call Detective Matt Sammis at 704-336-8862.
