SANTA BARBARA, CA – Thousands gathered for a candlelight vigil at the University of Santa Barbara campus after the deadly killing rampage of 22 year old student Elliott Rodger.
Police are trying to make sense of why the student went on the violent rampage. Authorities say he stabbed three men in his apartment complex before going on a shooting spree in Isla Vista where he lived and attended college. Officials identified ten locations where Rodgers wreaked havoc. He was carrying three semi-automatic handsguns, all of which he obtained legally.
Authorities are still trying to figure out Rodger’s motive, but after reading his manifesto they believe mental illness played a large part.
Investigators ae also looking at several YouTube videos posted by Roger. One titled “Retribution” has since been taken down. In it Rodger goes on a range about women ignoring and rejecting him.
Now, parents of those killed can only grieve.
