CHARLOTTE, NC — A 19-year-old man with a history of arrests is in jail tonight, charged with a murder in northwest Charlotte. This is an update to a story first on WCCB News @ Ten Tuesday night.
Deshawn McDowell is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. It’s the 19-year-old’s sixth arrest in Mecklenburg since April of 2012. CMPD says McDowell shot 18-year-old Ajewan Jones Tuesday at the Mighty Midget convenience store on Beatties Ford Road.
Detectives have not said what led to the shooting. Jones also has a lengthy arrest record.
