CHARLOTTE, NC — The fight for control over Charlotte-Douglas Airport may end Friday.  That’s when a judge could decide on the constitutionality of the Airport Commission.

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx says he isn’t trying to delay the FAA’s decision on whether to give the new Airport Commission control instead of the city.  WCCB Charlotte caught up with the former Charlotte mayor as he participated in Walk to School Day at Cotswold Elementary.

“The FAA has a role in anything that involves a governance change,” said Foxx.  “But this issue needs to be dealt with either by the courts of locally among leaders.”

State and local lawmakers have been battling over control of the airport since last year.
