The Edgitators: Do People Like Trump Because He’s Not A Politician?

A new CNN/ORC poll shows Donald Trump as the clear leader among Republican Presidential candidates. The survey shows 24 percent of registered Republicans back Trump. His nearest competitor, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, is a distant second at 13 percent. And retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson stands third at 9 percent.
Trump is also winning more fans within the Republican party. The new poll shows 58 percent of Republicans surveyed have a favorable view of Trump. That’s up from 50 percent last month. Trump is also showing popularity among Republican women, despite questions about his treatment of females. Sixty percent of Republican woman polled have a positive impression of Trump, compared to 57 percent of GOP men.
