
Β ST. LOUIS, MO — Another fatal police shooting has outraged a community already on edge.
Thursday, protesters in Saint Louis are still meeting near the scene where an off-duty officer shot and killed a teen Wednesday night. Β The incident comes two months after the Michael Brown shooting in nearby Ferguson. Β In both cases, a white officer shot and killed a black teen. Β This time, police say the teen was armed.
“A police officer tonight chased an individual who was armed with a gun. Β The individual shot at the officer at least three times, and the officer returned fire,” said St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson.
Authorities confirm the officer shot at the suspect 17 times. Β The officer was not hurt. Β Police say they found a 9mm handgun at the scene.
