LOWELL, NC — A man accused of molesting a boy inside a movie theater bathroom in Lowell may have done something similar before.  Police in Gastonia are looking at him as a suspect in an assault at a Target store.

19-year-old Joshua Weege faced a judge Wednesday by video monitor.  The judge says he’s a danger to the public and raised Weege’s bond from $150,000 to $250,000.  The District Attorney says Weege molested a 6-year-old boy, then locked him in a bathroom stall.  It happened on February 21 at the Regal Cinemas at Franklin Square.

The victim’s father spoke briefly during the hearing.  “I think he’s a menace and needs to be off the streets,” he said.

Weege remained in jail Wednesday night.  If he posts bond, the judge says he is not allowed around children under the age of 18.  He has another court date on March 23.
