DENVER, CO — U.S. Airways is trying to figure out what caused smoke to fill a plane flying from Charlotte to Denver.
Passengers used the emergency chutes to get off Flight 445 Wednesday afternoon at Denver International. Β The smoke apparently came from the cockpit. Β One passenger says she didn’t notice any problems during the flight.
“We landed, everything seemed fine, and about two seconds after we hit the ground, you smelled something burning, melting like electrical, and within a matter of like 30 seconds the cabin started filling with some acrid smoke,” said Aleta Pigliacampo.
Flight attendants then opened the emergency exits and deployed the slides. Β Paramedics checked out several passengers, but no one went to the hospital.
