Drier, Warmer Heading into Weekend

Highs slowly return to the 90s by the weekend.

The lovely week we’ve been having gets even better heading into the weekend. A weak cold front will move through our viewing area Thursday, which could produce some isolated storms, heavy at times, in the western Carolinas. Most communities will remain dry, however, as temperatures slowly climb into the upper 80s. Temperatures will actually climb on the other side of the front Friday and Saturday, thanks to more abundant sunshine and lower humidity levels. Expect highs near 90º on Friday in the Piedmont, further climbing into the mid-90s for the first half of the weekend.

Tonight: Isolated storms early, then mostly cloudy. Low: 69°. Wind: SW 5-10.

Thursday: Variable clouds. Isolated storms, mainly south. High: 86°. Wind: SW 5-10.

Thursday Night: Drier and cooler. Low: 66°. Wind: Light.

Friday: Mainly sunny. Hot. High: 90°. Wind: Light.
