Sunny Skies & Toasty Highs Return Friday, Weekend

Rain chances remain low through much of the weekend.

A weak, sagging cold front will slowly move southward through the western Carolinas late Thursday into Friday, which will flush out much of the moisture that’s been collecting this week and set us up for what should be a beautiful weekend. Despite the passage of the cold front, temperatures will heat up considerably, thanks to sunny skies and lower humidity. Expect temperatures to rise into the upper 80s and lower 90s for your Friday across the Piedmont and Foothills, while mountain communities can expect highs near 80º. The sunny skies and toasty highs continue to build into the weekend, where some spots could top out at the warmest temperatures we’ve seen all year. Rain chances return for next week, which should be slightly cooler.
