Temps Rising, Weekend Rain from Hurricane Laura
Hot and sunny today with highs running close to 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. It will be a nice day to get outside and enjoy the dry weather, or get any outdoor work done. Mugginess returns to the region tomorrow. Temps will once again reach the low 90s, but it will feel more like the triple digits. Isolated storm chances Thursday afternoon. The remnants of Hurricane Laura will move east and reach the Carolinas by late Friday into early Saturday. Up to 2β of rain will be possible for some areas, with even higher amounts for isolated regions of the mountains potentially leading to flash flooding. A few strong wind gusts could bring down trees easily leading to flash flooding. This system will move out of the region early Sunday with sunshine back in the forecast to dry things out leading into next week.
