Longtime Hot 97 Employee Fired for Involvement in Death of Yusuf Hawkins

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After an HBO Documentary revealed his involvement in the 1989 murder of Yusuf Hawkins, New York radio station, Hot 97 fired longtime employee Pasquale Raucci, better known as Paddy Duke.

The documentary Yusuf Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn takes a look at the murder of Hawkins, a black teen shot and killed by a group of white men.

Eight men including Paddy Duke saw charges but only three served any jail time.

Duke received probation and community service for possession of a bat as a weapon.

The radio station put out a statement saying in part they were shocked and took swift action.
