Detectives Say Motorcyclist Dies After Collision In Northeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives say a man driving a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle hit a 2018 Honda Civic and died on September 4th around 8:30 p.m.

Reginald Page was driving his motorcycle on North Tryon Street when he struck the car that was leaving a parking lot near Dorton Street, and traveled a short distance before his motorcycle became engulfed in fire, according to a news release.

Medics took Page to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center where he died, according to a news release.

Investigators say the Honda was driven by a 15-year-old woman who was charged for not having a driver’s license, and was not impaired at the time of the accident.

Police say the young woman was released to a guardian after the crash.

Detectives say Page was speeding at the time of the incident, and did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his license.

Police say the investigation is active, and for anyone with more information to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
