Increasing clouds and rain to end the work week across the Carolinas

The remnants of what was Tropical Storm Beta are swinging into the Carolinas which means increasing rain chances. The scattered showers we saw through Thursday will become numerous overnight into Friday. The Friday morning commute could be a messy one so be sure to allow plenty of time! The mountains may pick up 2-3” of rain with totals decreasing the farther east you travel. Storm Prediction Center has included a Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) for strong to severe storms for those south and east of I-85. The primary threat will be isolated storms producing damaging wind. The tornado threat is low, but it is not zero so stay weather aware through the day on Friday!

Isolated showers possible this weekend with high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. Our next cold front arrives on Monday!

Friday: Numerous showers. Mountains 1-3 inches with totals decreasing to 1-2” across the Piedmont. High 74°. Wind: SE 5-10.

Friday night: Decreasing showers through the night. Mostly Cloudy. Low: 65. Wind: E 5-10 mph.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly Sunny. High 80°. Wind: N/NE 5-10.
