CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives say 19-year-old Jasmine Sanchez lost control of her 2009 Infiniti G37 and died around 4 a.m. on Sunday, September 27th.
Sanchez, and one other passenger taken by medics for non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital, were speeding on the outer loop of East John Belk Freeway past 3rd Street Exit when Sanchez lost control of her vehicle, according to a news release.
Officers say Sanchez hit and broke through a guardrail on the right side of the road flipping the Infiniti and landing on its roof in an embankment.
Detectives say speeding and alcohol use are suspected to be contributing factors to the accident.
Police say the investigation remains active, and anyone with more information about the crash should call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
