CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Mecklenburg County Commissioner, Dan Ramirez, has lost his battle to Lou Gehrig’s Disease.Β The 67-year-old died Sunday.Β
Last year, Governor Pat McCrory awarded Ramirez with the Long Leaf Pine Award.Β It’s one of North Carolina’s highest honors.Β
Ramirez leaves behind three daughters and eight grandchildren.Β The family is still planning funeral arrangements.
