S.C. Troopers Investigate A Fatal Collision In Chesterfield County

MOUNT CROGHAN, S.C. — Troopers say the driver of a 2002 Honda Accord died after failing to stop for a stop sign, and getting hit by another car at the intersection of SC Highway 265 and Fairview Church Road on October 7th.

Around 8 a.m. the victim was driving north on Fairview Church Road when they were hit by Michael Sullivan, 66, driving east in his 2019 Dodge Caravan on Highway 265, according to a news release.

Investigators say Sullivan was injured and taken to Atrium Medical in Union, and the Honda driver was taken to McLeod Health in Cheraw where they later died from their injuries.

Troopers say the victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and their name has yet to be released until family is notified.

Master Trooper Gary Miller says the investigation remains active.
