KANSAS CITY, M.O. — The Foo Fighters are at it again.
Lead singer Dave Grohl and the band “rickrolled” a Westboro Baptist Church protest on Friday before their concert.
The group drove up to the protest held outside the Spirit Center in Kansas City, Missouri, while blasting the Rick Astley ’80s hit “Never Gonna Give You Up” and holding up signs that read “You got Rick roll’d (again)” and “Keep it clean.”
The Topeka, Kansas, church is known for protesting funerals and other events by holding up signs with offensive sayings.
This is not The Foo Fighters’ first protest. The band serenaded the same church in 2011 outside the same venue.
The Foo Fighters received a great deal of positive feedback on multiple social media platforms for their actions. Westboro Baptist Church even tweeted a humorous post about the incident.
