COLUMBIA, S.C. — Agents with the S.C. Law Enforcement Division say a former Detention Center Officer with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is under arrest for plotting to injure an inmate and providing contraband to inmates.
Deputies say 23-year-old Ingrid Ortiz-Montero is charged with two counts of misconduct in office and conspiracy, and is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.

SLED investigated the incident by the request of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, according to a news release.
Investigators say the Eleventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case.
